Nvidia Pascal Demo Units spotted in shipping: one $900 and other $600

Quote

We reported two weeks ago that Nvidia is rumored to demo its next generation Pascal graphics cards at GTC in April with a product launch at Computex in June. Whispers have reached us of Nvidia planning to showcase a Pascal graphics card at the show for the very first time.

A source claimed that this will take place on April 5th during Nvidia’s CEO Jen-Hsun Huang’s keynote. A pascal graphics board will allegedly be showcased on stage during the keynote. We were told that it’s not just going to be a prototype to visually demonstrate the form factor like last year, but an actual working Pascal graphics card.

This seems like two possiblities:

One GP100 card and one GP104 card

Or one Dual GPU GP100 and other one single GP100

Either way, i do hope it launches this year

900 and 600 eh?  Apparently titan's not coming out for a while yet so 900 is probably not that.  600 could be the "gtx 1080" (ti probably to come later), and since these will be such cooler cores that before, could that 900 be a dual GPU card? ("Gtx 1090" perhaps?) :D

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

I wasn't making a joke. That being said, I don't get why you keep editing my post to misrepresent what I was saying. You've twisted my words to reflect something drastically out of context.

The quote in the OP is very difficult to see using LTT Forums night theme. Therefore, to read it, I have to highlight the quoted text in order to read it. I'm going to go out on a limb and assume you haven't been here long.

Maybe a Titan at $900?  That'd be interesting.  And then 1080 at $600.  Two 1080's may be in order.  Hopefully they start above where OC'd 980ti's left off in terms of performance, or maybe even better.  Hope.  We can have it.

Pascal can not come soon enough. My 980 is just not enough to drive 3440x1440, but I can't bring myself to buy a 980ti with Pascal just around the corner.

C'MON TITAN IN JUNE!

Well a Pascal Titan will be roughly 2X a Titan X due to having 2X the transistors. A 1080 will be around a 980Ti so you are right

I really doubt that if the $900 card is a dual gpu card. They always launch those for 3 times the price of the single card.

You know what's easier than buying and building a brand new PC? Petty larceny!
If you're worried about getting caught, here's a trick: Only steal one part at a time. Plenty of people will call the cops because somebody stole their computer -- nobody calls the cops because they're "pretty sure the dirty-bathrobe guy from next door jacked my heat sink."

Per unit price and retail price are completely different things. This is just the raw card.

There is a very big chance that nVidia will come whit a dual GPU card, and i think it will be around $1000
And the single GPU card (GTX1080*) will be around $600

And i expect a lot of performance gain from that dual GPU.

I have been out of it for a few weeks, but are these new GPU's going to be called 1000 series or is that what people are guessing? I really don't like the sound of 1080 as it will get confusing.

x-series would sound nice and accomplish the same thing in roman numerals.

x-80

x70

etc

Silverstone FT-05: 8 Broadwell Xeon (6900k soon), Asus X99 A, Asus GTX 1070, 1tb Samsung 850 pro, NH-D15

Like people have said with the 295x2, it´s just going to be 2 cards in sli or xfire. Given SLI´s scaling, don´t expect anything to blow your socks off.

I disagree. I don't think there will be a small chance, let alone a big chance. It makes no sense at this point. They won't be threatened by AMD's X2 card, because if the rumors about "twice the performance per watt" thing are true, then a single high end Nvidia card will beat the X2 Fury card. Simple as that.

We didn't see a dual GPU card with Maxwell, would be odd to do it now given no need to do so.
