LTT fans generally represent the enthusiast part of consumers so I'm guessing this would be a totally different outcome. Here's me with:

Intel Core i7 4790K
ASUS ROG MAXIMUS VII HERO
Corsair Vengeance Pro 2400MHz 16GB
ATI Radeon R9 290
SSD Samsung 840 EVO 120GB
HDD Western Digital Black 1TB

Running stock.

The problem with this logic is that we're hosting a page for Tech Enthusiasts, only really being checked by people who are already addicts to Forums (and hence will be major PC tech-heads, most likely with very powerful pc's), or people who follow the YouTube channel and wanted to post there results.

How many people are actually interested in creating a Forum account, just to say they cannot run VR?

People who have less care over there computers (and hence are less likely to care about poles like this) will probably have invested less in there pc's on average, and hence I am assuming that the lower end of the spectrum will be far smaller here than through Valve's official server, where any gamer on Steam can already download the package and hit test (very tempting with all the news).

In my view a far more interesting test would be if Valve were to add two questions to there own VR survey, on the plans you had/have for the computer in terms of VR:

Did you expect your pc to be VR capable?

Do you plan on using your pc for VR?

This would allow the datasheets to cancel out all the garbage tests (similar to Luke's 6 false entries of weak pc's), giving us some true data as for whether or not the majority of people interested in VR are (or are not) VR ready. Unfortunately, post writing this comment, I've realised that 1. Someone else has probably already said these things on one of the 174 previous pages, and 2. It makes no difference as it's highly unlikely that Valve are reading this, and pretty much impossible for them to change the test data even if they were to read it :P

Guess I'll see myself out for now.

Valve claims that only 9.4% of current gaming rigs are ready for VR... but as that number is based on the results of the Steam Hardware Survey, we don't think that it paints an accurate picture of the proportion of gaming PCs that are ready for VR that people actually intend to use for VR gaming.

So, being a part of this awesome forum community full of enthusiasts, we decided to see if we could paint a more accurate picture of the current state of the "VR for PC" market.

If you plan on using your gaming PC for VR, please take part in this test. Run the SteamVR Performance Test that Valve currently has available (through steam, you can find it at this link), and once you have your results, please do the following:

1. Comment below listing the following specs of your PC:
Rig name
Cpu  Intel i5 6400
Gpu  EVGA gtx 970
Ram 16gb
Score 6.7

2. Add a screenshot of your SteamVR Performance Test results.

3. Answer the poll question in this thread.

And that is all we need! Thanks so much for taking part in this fun little survey - let's see how many of you are truly ready for VR gaming!

If you thought this was cool and want to take part in another fun survey that we have here on the forum, check out @Jumper118's Cinebench R15 thread here.
