Nice thing about pcpartpicker.com is it has a compatibility filter on the site, so it basically takes the guess work out of it as well. If only it existed when i started building.. would have saved so much headache.

I agree with vercii on this. That power supply is overkill. If he went with even a 750 Watt psu, he could put that extra money into a better graphics card.

You know how it is, the cow goes "moo", the dog goes "woof" and the gamer goes "The PvP is unbalanced."

I edited your part list by adding in a better PSU that isn't so much overkill.

Don't get 960 sli. First of all, r9 380/380x is better. Second of all, you NEVER get two gpus unless each GPU is already like top of the line. In this case, your better off getting an r9 nano or r9 fury.

#2. Get an intel processor. Perhaps a 6600k or 4690k will fit your needs. The 8370 will hold back your GPUs big time.

#3 As others have mentioned that PSU is way OP :)

Just some suggestions :)

Nice build, but instead of the dual 960s, you should go with one r9 390

And with the R9 390, you only need a 600W PSU

Here I made this build for you: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/KBRYVn

It looks more expensive but is in reality cheaper cuz in your build it wasn't registering the fx 8370s price.

Maybe a 6500 instead? It has the best skylake price to performance ratio

those SSDs aren't known for their performance.  Most people go with a samsung or intel

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

I go through many people about this. People just want an SSD that can boot up quickly. The brand and stuff does not matter. I put one into my friends pc and it works like a beaut

The brand doesn't matter but the chips in it do, and those aren't great:

http://www.anandtech.com/show/7763/an-update-to-kingston-ssdnow-v300-a-switch-to-slower-micron-nand

It will still be a ton better than a HDD for general usability and all the typical benefits people go to SSDs for since what makes any SSD feel fast is the random IO which is still massively better than any HDD, but as SSDs go, they're some of the slowest, and its sequential speeds are actually worse than most HDDs

There's no reason to throw $100 at a cooler when the CPU isn't overclockable, and also keep in mind that the Gigabyte 390 has locked voltage, so if you wnat to do a lot of overclocking than look elsewhere, but other than that good gaming build. Content creation build is good, nothing I would really change

Number one thing to say is that the dual 860 setup is a bad idea. Never go with SLI or Crossfire unless you already have a high end GPU, and second, for that price those 960s could be turned into 970s from a place like EVGA B stock, if he waits until the stock is fresh.

But even if they are slower, they are still fast and I've found that with windows 10, speed of the ssd doesnt matter
