Know Any Contacts within Intel -- I know, Odd Request

First off, I don't know where this kind of topic goes into; I was considering both "General Discussion" and "Off Topic."

@WoodenMarker or @Godlygamer23 (or any of the mods) know where is a more suitable place, kindly move this topic.

Some Background Info...

I am a Fourth-Year Electrical Engineering student with goals to specialize in Electronics / Hardware -- more specifically, computer hardware.
Intel Canada recently had a booth set-up at my University, during a "Hi-Tech Co-op / Carrier Fair" and I had a good chat with the three representatives there (BTW, thank you to those people for taking time out of their busy schedule to do this). They mentioned Intel usually Engineering students as Co-op over the summer -- and they have a site in Vancouver, Canada. They also told me they typically hire for 8-month terms (as 4-months is too short); this fits my academic schedule perfectly, as I want to do 8-months of Co-op starting this summer. The Vancouver site mainly focuses on Intel SSD's, FPGA's, and recently, their 3DX-Point storage solution. One of the reps was kind enough to give me their Intel work e-mail, so I can keep in touch with him. As you can see, this is freakin' RIGHT up my alley, and probably one of those once-in-a-lifetime experiences.

The People of LTT, use your God-like powers...

I know, deep within the huge LTT community, there are industry affiliates, business owners, Engineers, Scientists, etc. I am hoping somebody knows a contact, or two, who may possibly give me that extra 1% chance of getting an opportunity to work for the Intel. I am not intending to put anybody in a difficult situation, so I completely understand if you know somebody, but wish to decline.

Able to be a part of Intel in Canada is a preference, simply closer to home, but in the U.S. is not a problem -- I have family and friends who live in sunny California, really close to ol' 'Silicon Valley.' Heck, I am perfectly fine with overseas / intentional opportunities, too.

I hate to do this, but is @LinusTech willing to help a fellow BC boy out? :x

To wrap this up...

I know this is an odd request, and this may or may not turn out, but dammit, it doesn't hurt to even give it a try -- even if the odds are not on your side.

IMO, there is no crime to dream big; nothing wrong in hopes to be the next Jim Keller :P.

Again, thank you everyone for who read / chimed-in on this topic.

-- Victor

I think the thread is fine where it's at since we're not talking about CPUs, but rather Intel as a whole and it deals with tech.
