Does an SSD boosts your FPS in games?

Possibly in open world games ie. Arma or Fallout where it is constantly loading the map and if you are going fast enough where it isn't loading the map fast enough you may have a lag spike. But a SSD in general is a great upgrade.

In 99% of cases no. It may reduce stutter in open world games when you move from one part of the the map to another, but a ssd generally only benefits the loading times in games.

SSD's don't do much of anything in terms of improving in-game performance. They can sometimes speed up loading times, but that's really about it.

They speed up loading times and may prevent momentary FPS drop when, for example, you enter a new area and it has to load textures for things off in the distance.

 Almost as cool as my temps

No.. apart from the reason above but it does generally improve overall system performance and responsiveness.. A worthwhile upgrade but not if your sacrificing too much performance else-where.

I don'T PreSS caPs.. I juST Hit THe keYboARd so HarD iT CriTs :P

In the vast majority of cases, FPS will not improve. However, loading times will.

No it will only decrease load times.

If your not on a tight budget then get at least a small one for about $70 or less.. If the budget is very tight and your looking to squeeze every drop of gaming performance, then drop it.

It would be a shame not to invest in a SSD for that rig.. You WILL see the difference.

Generally speaking no, in some games with a lot of real time asset streaming it can give you a boost though.

 

That said, I would not buy anything above 500$ without an ssd. Not getting it would be a mistake.

He will see BIG difference in every every other task besides games, but today SSD is a must in a system like this...
