Cheep Oscilloscope Kit good idea?

Pcinacan

So i have found this kit for an Oscilloscope here and i was thinking about getting an Oscilloscope just because, but they do not have an "just because price". But for $25 it does not see so bad and i would think it would have a lot of draw backs. So is this worth my time and money?

Those kit osciloscopes are utter garbage. Get a cheap analog osciloscope if you are serious.

Search on eBay for analog osciloscopes. What do you need one at all?

I would say buy a second hand one off eBay or craigslist or something, rather then use the kit ones

For that uni you have linked there is a fairly good review of it here, it seems to pickup a lot of random noise:

create a custom notification on ebay for analog scopes. They sometimes go for dirt cheap and they're far better and much more reliable than those crap kits.

It's not uncommon for that to happen at times :P

As for the Oscilloscope though I wouldn't recommend the unit at least from that video review it did mention a newer version that is less noisy which may be something to look into.

This is a good video that compares one of those cheap kits to an expensive oscilloscope.
