A desktop view on the mobile site

After the forum update, we now can't use a proper desktop site on our phones. I primarily like how desktop sites allow you to see more than just a little tiny bit of the page. Also, having to click only once to see the notifications is also much more convenient. I could add many more things to this list, but that would probably bore you all, so my suggestion: add a button somewhere to make us able to view the desktop site on our phones.

Thanks for your time,

Tom

Urg, but for example one of my computer monitors is 1920 wide, if I then move Chrome to be half of that monitor, the site well be <960 pixels wide, and it still works like the desktop version. My phones screen is 1080 pixels wide (or close to 1920 when in landscape mode), so it should work, as that's even more than the still fine 960 pixels wide.

If you are using mobile firefox, you can force it to request desktop version. Thats only way to get it working. Otherwise it will use resolution/dpi/zoom based solution.

To note. Notifications are pretty much same as they were with old mobile.

Unfortunately, due to the way that the site has been designed, I don't think this is possible at the moment. You should have access to most of the same features on the mobile version though, and, as @LoGiCalDrm said, if you use Firefox mobile, enabling "Request Desktop Site" will show the full version.

Your phone is 1080 real pixels wide, but not 1080 logical pixels. The resolution of your screen as seen by the site is about half the actual resolution, so that things are actually a manageable site to read and tap. There isn't enough space on a mobile screen to support the full width site without making you zoom in.
