And can't you get a GTX 980Ti for the price of that 980??

OP lives in Aussie. Checked the store that he's buying all the parts from and its based in Australia. 

 

Man I feel bad. I live in the states and a 980 Ti here starts at $600.

I shaved it down, and included a 390X with a 21:9 1080p Free-sync display, you could get a 27" 4k free-sync display for like 300 more

 

the free-sync display will be better than the 1440p display for gaming, though the 1440p display is better for productivity

Too bad the Nano isn't avalible there, nor the Fury cards

 

Although the 980 is obviously going to be a faster card, free-sync might make the drop worth it for smoother gameplay despite generally lower FPS, seems to be about 10fps behind at stock from this video

Except in Far Cry 4, because Far Cry 4 loves AMD cards I guess

Rember the exchange rate is crap in Aus. I got my 980 Ti from amazon for around $900 AUD. It was listed for around $649 USD.

Thanks for the recommendations guys. What R9 do you recommend? Also I picked this monitor because it's an 28" IPS display. This machine will be used for more casual gaming. More of a work machine.

Well the 390X gives you a bit more bang for yer buck, and the 390X is the highest end card available over there from the looks of it. I'd usually go with just a 390, but the price difference is less than $100, so might as well jump to the 390X.

Otherwise for productivity then, shoot for either the 1440p display or 4k display, although 27" is a bit small for 4k unless you sit really close.
