Nvidia GP 100 Titan to debut in April, GTX 1080 to launch in June

Here is the source http://techfrag.com/2016/01/25/nvidia-2014-2017-gpu-roadmap-pascal-titan-gp100-to-debut-in-april-gtx-1080-in-june-and-volta-in-2017/

Nvidia's Titan GPU will be debuting in April

As for the unveiling, the Titan grade products based on the GP100 are expected to be announced in April, with the downgrade version to debut in June 2017. On the other hand, the GP104 based series, allegedly called the GeForce GTX 1080, and its scaled down version GTX 1070 will be unveiled in June this year, just before or after COMPUTEX.

According to techfrag the titan will be coming in April, and the GTX 1080 and 1070 will follow it 2 months later.

Apparently the cutdown version of the Titan won't be coming until june 2017, meaning that the GTX 1080 Ti won't be with us until next year.

It seems Nvidia will be releasing the first of their FinFET based GPUs before AMD, which may give them an advantage.

However most likely AMD will release in time for the GTX 1080 and GTX 1070. However Nvidia will probably dominate the high end gaming market from April to later this year.

This is probably bad news for AMD, as this means that Nvidia will probably be releasing their first Pascal GPUs before their Polaris ones.

On another note, should I now wait till April to buy a GPU or keep gaming on my surface pro, with my build on hold?

finally, I might be able to upgrade my GPU in time for my birthday if the 1080 and 1070 are released in June. So long as they give good performance (1070~980) then I'll be happy.

AMD may still counter with dual GPU Fury X but yea I know.. it is dual GPU vs single GPU .. as long as it will be at least close with performance and cost the same or less it may be still a good option for gamers.

We don't know. It's just a rumor. It likely will be called that. But I honestly expect it to be like GTXX 170 or something like that. Like adding another letter like they did with the GT series.

GTX 1080, ready for 4k? wut? xD

And tbh i don't believe this. Finfet and 16-14nm is a big jump, for nvidia and for amd.

And it's something you present with proud to attract investors.

So why would they wait so long if the planned release date is sooner than AMD's?

This is a lie, or nvidia's products will be considerably worse than amd's and they know.

If you want my attention, quote meh! D: or just stick an @samcool55 in your post :3

xD every single time AMD releases a new GPU design Nvidia ninjas them to the draw like Clint Eastwood in 'A Fistful of Dollars'. This is just too hilarious how they keep doing this.

EDIT: Disregard, thought it was June 2016.

With that naming plan, it might end up as the GTXXX at some point in time.

counter?! they're not even in the same ballpark

it would be the same as AMD did with comparing a GCN gen 4 with a Maxwell V2

Gonna buy a new card, is it gonna be the 1070 or 490, can't wait to see the battle.

Yeah for sure. However after AMD released their GPUs they might end up better since they have more experience with HBM.

Yeah I was surprised too but that's what it says.

Hmm. Well I'm itching for an upgrade. So depending on when the new Titan or Polaris card drops; I'll buy one to replace my current GPUs if the performance claims are true.

After re-reading it. this is flat out impossible. Current max HBM2 amount is 16GB so 32GB Titan is literally not possible at this point in time according to Samsung. This is a hoax.

......I'm interested.

Though, the Titan concerns me yet again. How much will it be? Will it cost upwards of £900? Will it actually be using HBM2?

These rumours may be pretty sketchy, but to be honest...until we see more at, like, GDC......
