It's option 2 for me. When Zidane and Dagger didn't kiss at the end of FFIX I was emotionally damaged for life. A close second was when Fratley didn't remember Freya. God damn FFIX was a roller coaster of a game.

"Life is Strange" scarred me for life.

 

With the whole series but mostly the last 2 episodes.

That one mission in MGSV really brought out the feels.

I think mostly having to kill your comrades in MGSV is pretty sad. I mean shit they are infected with a stronger virus that causes their urine, vomit and any other bodily fluid to be ungodly sweet causing birds to fly out of there way into the ocean the middle of ocean mind you and eat the infected and spread it to the rest of the world.

 

Shit having to kill your comrades is sad enough hell some say " Traitor!!" Doesn't help that your Andriod sounds pretty sad too.

death, but until now, I can just remember one game that have actually made my cry a little bit and that is the walking dead. (telltalte) (season 1 more than 2).

The first one always feels like a cheap move by writers to me. It's so overdone, and usually poorly done. It always feels like writers are trying really hard to make you feel sad and I'm just not having that bullsh*t. The second one is usually at least funny, and humor can be emotional...

I think Carmin from Gears 3 is the only death I was sad to see. Also the end of Gears 4 was a tad sad. Besides that nothing. Haven't actually played to many story driven games that have decent characters.
