Thermaltake..what's your opinion?

Not sure if this is the right topic, but I couldn't really find another category for it.

 

But I'm sure you all remember when Thermaltake was accused of stealing case, fan, pump, etc. ideas from many other companies. I know that EK has formally apologized to them, but that doesn't change everyone's opinion. So what do you guys think of Thermaltake? I personally don't even consider them as an option for a product now, no matter how good of a deal it may be. They've already turned me against them.

Im using one of their PSUS right now.

Ryzen 5 3600 stock | 2x16GB C13 3200MHz (AFR) | GTX 760 (Sold the VII)| ASUS Prime X570-P | 6TB WD Gold (128MB Cache, 2017)

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB 

138 is a good number.

If you don't care about ethics, then Thermaltake is a pretty decent option (aside from PSUs).

I don't mind them, and if they have a good product at the price range I'm looking at I always consider them :P Would probs not use a PSU from them however

You shouldn't use that as a reason not to buy something unless the effects of that choice trickle down to you

Thermaltake makes extremely decent products.  Sure they copy, but everyone in this industry does.  They're just very blatant in it.  Their new Riing fans are also pretty damn good from what I have seen / heard.

Its pretty stupid to do that with products, but its easy to do as a consumer 

 

You have to look and see if a product is right for you on a lower level than just popularity or corporate choices by the manufacturer

 

 

I don't mind them, and if they have a good product at the price range I'm looking at I always consider them :P Would probs not use a PSU from them however

I have their Core x9 and it's the only case capable of supporting my motherboard sub $500. The quality is pretty good for the price. The low price, good quality and a lot of custom building was what sold me that case

Dude, EVGA is killing it in the PSU market right now :D

I wasn't saying you necessarily should buy a PSU from Tt over any other brand, but they are reliable in my experience, not something you should just turn down based on brand name

I'm considering one of their mechanical keyboards in fact. For the same price of the CM storm ten keyless it's also illuminated (led not RGB) so it seems like a nice deal and well the switches are cherry anyway.

I'm using their case right now and love it (v41).  I'm not a big fan of theirs though, only because I feel like a lot of their products are either A. cheaply made crap or  B. just not a great product, no matter how well put together.  I dislike their watercooling products although I've never used them and I'll keep it that way

I have a Thermaltake Suppressor F31 case... Can be seen as "inspired" by Define R4 or R5.

I have a Thermaltake 600w PSU

I also have Thermaltake Riing fans now...

 

Apple/Samsung - Copying for copying sake... Best example.

 

They ALL do it, so I just don't care anymore. If one company wants to give me the same functionality for a better price, that is who I am going to give my money to. I didn't plan to buy a bunch of Tt stuff, but that's just how it worked out. They offered me the features I needed, at a price that was cheaper, at the time I needed it. Sorry Define, but you overcharge just for the name. Sorry Corsair, but they saved me $35. Sorry Noctua, but you're ugly AND expensive, for not enough additional sound dampening benefit.

 

I will say that I was originally going to buy the BeQuiet Base 800, in red, but they won't have them for sale in N.A. for another couple months. Didn't want to wait that long while my system continued to run hotter than necessary in a stock Dell case. It is what it is, and I may still buy it in August when I upgrade my motherboard, but when you have to buy parts in batches, you go with whatever you can afford at the time you are buying them over the most perfect solutions.

I don't shop by brand...so no opinion? I just buy whatever that suits my needs at the lowest cost. The item in question having a large user base for support and good warranty/customer service is a plus of course.

 

I did own a Poseidon Z (blue) for a few days. Promptly returned it for a CM Quickfire Xt as the Poseidon had a bump on the space bar which hurts my thumb whenever I hit space.

I have some of their fans with the allegedly stolen design(which is pure BS) and I can safely say they are better than the Corsair ones they were accused of being a ripoff of. Bottom line is thermaltake make decent products for the price.

They may look like a rip off, but they actually sound better(by a few db's), and perform better(RPM/noise/pressure vs corsair) in some tests from what I understand.
