We designed the Airtop motherboard from the ground up to maximize performance, reliability and functionality,

Every aspect was considered starting from thermally-optimized component placement, redundancy of power, networking and storage up to making Airtop's interior completely cable-free for easy servicing

over the next few weeks, Compulab will release 4 Airtop products

  • Airtop-W, a workstation with an Intel Xeon Processor E3 and full-height Nvidia Quadro M4000 graphics card ($2,999)
  • Airtop-G, a gaming desktop with an Intel Core i7 processor and Nvidia GeForce GTX 950 graphics card ($1,968)
  • Airtop-S, a server with an Intel Xeon Processor E3, 32 GB ECC RAM, a four hard disk RAID array, and 6 Gigabit Ethernet ports ($1,810)
  • Airtop-DIY, A kit consisting of the chassis and cooling system, and custom-designed LGA1150 motherboard ($1128)

these systems will have 5y warranty

 

sounds pretty impressive, that price tho ..

can't wait for @LinusTech to get his hands on one  ^_^

they make fanless PSUs in excess of 500watts, some higher wattage PSUs don't turn their fan on unless under high load, and you can easily get a power brick up to ~330 watts. 

I assume they're using bricks. 

muh specs 

Gaming and HTPC (reparations)- ASUS 1080, MSI X99A SLI Plus, 5820k- 4.5GHz @ 1.25v, asetek based 360mm AIO, RM 1000x, 16GB memory, 750D with front USB 2.0 replaced with 3.0  ports, 2 250GB 850 EVOs in Raid 0 (why not, only has games on it), some hard drives

Screens- Acer preditor XB241H (1080p, 144Hz Gsync), LG 1080p ultrawide, (all mounted) directly wired to TV in other room

Stuff- k70 with reds, steel series rival, g13, full desk covering mouse mat

All parts black

Workstation(desk)- 3770k, 970 reference, 16GB of some crucial memory, a motherboard of some kind I don't remember, Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI, CM Storm Trooper (It's got a handle, can you handle that?), 240mm Asetek based AIO, Crucial M550 256GB (upgrade soon), some hard drives, disc drives, and hot swap bays

Screens- 3  ASUS VN248H-P IPS 1080p screens mounted on a stand, some old tv on the wall above it. 

Stuff- Epicgear defiant (solderless swappable switches), g600, moutned mic and other stuff. 

Laptop docking area- 2 1440p korean monitors mounted, one AHVA matte, one samsung PLS gloss (very annoying, yes). Trashy Razer blackwidow chroma...I mean like the J key doesn't click anymore. I got a model M i use on it to, but its time for a new keyboard. Some edgy Utechsmart mouse similar to g600. Hooked to laptop dock for both of my dell precision laptops. (not only docking area)

Shelf- i7-2600 non-k (has vt-d), 380t, some ASUS sandy itx board, intel quad nic. Currently hosts shared files, setting up as pfsense box in VM. Also acts as spare gaming PC with a 580 or whatever someone brings. Hooked into laptop dock area via usb switch

and passive component cooling ain't nothing new

200W don't seem impressive at all to be honest...

 

these things were cooling 150W CPUs for over a decade

umm.. never heard of the 650W, but yes they do have a 520W unit indeed

it still releases the heat tho so a 500 watt wouldn't work in there

which is why I assume it's a brick, aside form the design. You COULD have  a fanless, as long as you keep in ventilated separately. You don't have to have a case fan with them really.

Also the system is not that fast, but it's still nice.

 

Althougth there is still Deltatronics makeing more powerful full passive systems like an i7 5960X and a GTX 980 for 3500 Euro.

They do the same as I did with my GPUs:

Bolting them onto a very big heat sink, and use the hat sink as the side pannel.

It works quite well.

Mineral oil and 40 kg aluminium heat sinks are a perfect combination: 73 cores and a Titan X, Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Oil
