Asus MG28UQ 4K 144hz Free Sync

tommi_6o

Asus has released the first 4K 144hz monitor. There aren't any specific technical specifications about how they achieved high enough bandwidth to drive this display but they should be released later.

You guys do know that DisplayPort 1.3 is being released this year right? All high end monitors will come with it.

Watching Intel have competition is like watching a headless chicken trying to get out of a mine field

but your first sentence of the first post says it's relased and then you end your post with the sentence that it will be released soon and now you're telling in the comming months

will probably be DP 1.3a

What would you call a company showing a new product and saying that you can buy it soon if  not releasing?

That's the only article I've seen that mentions that they are 144hz panels, so I'm not sure it's true.

and AMD is going to have 18 Billion, so what?

it's not the number of transistors that matters it's the way you use the transistors that matters, but having a great number of transistors can help

Virtex-Ultrascale XCVU440 has 20b and Samsungs 16GB DRAM packs more than 137b transistors

It ain't the size of the dog in the fight, it's the cleverness and genious behind the dog's engineers, unless the dog is really f-ing big then you're screwed anyway.

Both Freesync and G-sync have been lacking a "killer app", one that stands out tall as the clearly best option.

Since ASUS have no reason to want to make one of the two technologies more widespread than the other (they make monitors for both) expect this to cost your arms and legs, your dogs paws and your great granny's ashes.

So it's largely going to be an irrelevant product for 99% of us. There's the 90% who won't afford it, and the 9% who can afford it but have working brain cells.

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.

Cool, that it has 144Hz refresh rate.

Although I covered it on my topic here http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/521571-asus-rog-products-show-off-ces-2016-images-heavy/, I didn't know that they're 4K @ 144Hz.

That's why I reposted it here  :)

But still, Hardwarecanucks is the only source that says it supports 4K @ 144 Hz. I would love to see some official announcement from the Asus side. :)

I feel like 4k and TN should never be an option. I thought we'd moved on to brighter skies, and greener pastures.

Still.... 4K & 144hz, well done Asus!
