Do people see the same in the dark?

as96

So I don't know how to put my question into words but... can someone see better than someone else in the dark (I'm pretty sure the answer here is yes) although the question that I care about is... is it related to how good can someone see in an illuminated environment?

Weird question I know

I'm fairly certain that a blind person won't see as well in the dark as someone who can see.

Yes. It could be influenced by many, many things. Bear in mind people see colours differently, so it's almost certain that people see different in the dark.

No. They do not see the same in the dark.

The older you get the worse it gets, also exposure to bright objects during night time makes it even worse. Drivers suffer from it.

I'm talking about humans, animals usually have more rod cells (if I remember correctly from my biology class)

Yes, I believe so. For example, my mother used to be completely blind in the dark whereas my father could see ok.

Extremely small differences in the eye can make a big difference to how people perceive colours. There's no way to really compare how people see colours, though. Colour blindness kind of proves how people perceive light differently (:

I have excellent night vision compared to my family members.

So yes, some people do see dark better than others.

I would note I live a 'darker' life style because my eyes are very sensitive. If I subjected myself to the same stuff they did (not wearing sunglasses outside for example) my night vision might not be as good. Temporarily I mean.

"Normandy" i7 4790K - GTX 970 - Phantom 410 (Gun metal) - Z97 Extreme4 (asrock) - 128GB Crucial SSD - 1TB WD HDD - H60 Refurb. - 7 case fans | G710+ Keyboard, G230 Headset, Acer GN246HL Monitor.

Quick thoughts on system: I7 is extremely quick and I'm glad I spent the extra for hyper-threading. I regret my decision to get the GTX 970, it has horrible coil whine. There isn't any excuse for this terrible whine I and others are having. I HIGHLY recommend a 144hz monitor. Future Improvements/upgrades: Rubber fan mounts, basic speakers, more ram (for a total of 16gb), replace GPU.

144hz is love. 144hz is life. I like to submit unfinished posts then do about 20 edits. I like the Night Theme too.

Yep I can cumfirm, as a kid I could really see well in the dark, now that I'm getting older it's already getting worse. I might die soon.

So many things I could write here... things like this.
