Mechanical Keyboard Club!

Dave :)
I decided to take my set of dye-sub PBT keycaps and put them on my Ducky Shine 2 with blue LEDs. Doesn't look too bad, though I was kind of hoping the light would at least shine through the grey keycaps :S

There is a cover over my Shine 2. This is a silicone keyboard cover, like the ones you put over a laptop keyboard to protect it from liquid spills or dust (or other foreign bodies). I got this when I visited the Ducky booth at Computex last week. I feel really safe now  :D

Caved in and preordered a V60 60% Keyboard in MX Clears from Pexon.

Should arrive some time in July, pretty excited.

It gives me both the form factor and the switch type I wanted. Ducky mini looks nice but not sure if its in clears, and that big shell kinda seems silly to me for a 60% board.

Will be interesting to see the dual LEDs ( I got Red/Green I think) look like, and the overall feel of a board of that size.

Yep. My mouse choices are way too limited because of that. I'm using a Roccat Kova right now.

Are you talking about the Roccat Sova wireless mech keyboard lap pad thing with a built in battery for your mouse?

Yes, yes I am. BTW if thats the official name I think they need to work on it a bit to shorten it up. :P

It does look nice.

Sucks that they didn't make the bottom row mods 1.25, but if I can get one with Blues I will get one for my HTCP.

The control, Win, Alt, Fn keys. They are not all the standard 1.25 from what I saw in the videos. Also there's no telling what size/spacing their spacebar will be.

So like on Corsair keyboards it's going to be a pain if not impossible to put custom caps on it if you want to.

Didn't know it existed till you'd mentioned it, took one look and, well, suffice to say I'm gonna have to change to a new pair of undies.  I'm so wanting to buy it even harder! :D

Hmmn, for TKL your best bets are Ducky and Coolermaster. I've used a CM Storm Trigger (full layout) and the quality felt ok, but Ducky are generally regarded as better quality. Both companies offer TKL with backlight, the CM Storm Quickfire Rapid-i is white-backlit (though there are complaints about how readable the font on the keycaps is), and Ducky offer their Shine series in TKL and with different backlight colour options.

CM Storm is available in reds, blues and browns. Ducky is available in reds, blacks, browns and blues. Here's some links:

CM Storm

Ducky

Is there anything TKL with white backlight with blue switches? I've not encountered one yet

EDIT: Found a KBT Race 2.. is somewhat TKL..

But i don't like it's price :|.. In my country the quickfire rapid-i is 80 euro's atm... but it has browns! :|

EDIT 2.0: How's a blue backlight with those LED Covers? And other backlight colours? I think I won't find a cheap white LED TKL board with blue switches around here :|

you can tell the size of the spacebar if you know the lengths of the other keys. As for replacement caps you might have to get a bit creative but im sure it can be done.

http://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=552 I don't know if you think that's cheap but it's cheaper then other options.

True, but some space bars can have odd placed stems.

That you sadly cant find out until you flip the thing over and compare.

Just ordered myself one of these w/ Cherry MX Clear switches. I'll let y'all know how I find it. Pretty excited for this board, though :D

They have those on Elite Keyboards. Tell me what you think because a lot of those features seemed to be puled form the WASD v2.
