Mechanical Keyboard Club!

Dave :)

Hello from West Melbourne!  You'd love the Clears for sure.  It's what most people are looking for when they get Browns but they just don't know it yet 'cause they have yet to try Clears.  :)

Hello fellow Floridian. I drive past Melbourne when I have to go up to Jacksonville. Yeah I was trying to get a CODE from WASD that has clears. I read something on GeekHack that they are having troubles getting clears in large quantities.

They have back-orders coming in.  Looks like a sweet board.  If you ever pass through and want to tap on some Clears then hit me up LOL.

Does anybody know how white the white backlight is on the DS3? I'm buying one soon but I'm torn between the white and orange backlight, however if the white isn't really white and has more of a blue tint I would rather get the orange backlight.

The lowest brightness setting has a bluish tint to it but once you up the brightness, it's as white as it can be.

that would mean the LEDs are controlled via voltage.

I wouldn't think so, the keyboard has a controller board in it so I would assume that it's controlling all the changes I make to the keyboard, but don't take my word for it.

you shouldnt see any change in color when using PWM the may be limiting the amount of power going to them possibly also but that would be more complex than voltage. Also all keyboards have "controller boards" except for those in laptops where it is on the motherboard of the laptop.

These arrived in the mail today, some low priced key caps....the two red Topre key caps weren't cheap, but not exactly expensive either.....not into clacks.....for now. The Autobot/Decepticon and Mario is made from Zinc alloy, and a couple of PBT DOTA keys just for the heck of it. ;)

Good luck with that! I'm thinking of replacing the worn out key caps on my Trigger, CM doesn't sell them.....so, you're left with finding alternative key caps. I'd thought of Ducky, and for the most parts it isn't a problem. The issue arise when some of the secondary 'Function' keys don't align with each other. For example, F1 toggles Mute for Ducky IIRC, but on CM, it toggles LED mode.....they don't match.

Thats a huge improvement :D

the only thing youre missing from filco/ducky is the build quality, its so solid

you'll get there one day but QFR is the value for money IMO

I am using a $3 glow in the dark keyboard that doesn't glow in the dark and has letters already wearing off it.  A, S and Shift key are looking worn and I have only had this keyboard for 2 and a half months or maybe a little more.  As for a mechanical keyboard purchase in my future not happening as I can't wrap my head around paying so much for keyboards.  I also still have never purchased an SSD nor do I need one.

Too many ****ing games!  Back log 4 life! :S

yeah, I just wished it actually was fully back lit, I  was actually thinkin, of sending the keyboard back until I realized that  having back lit keys was somewhat of a trivial feature

Very, very nice buy there CC, I see someone else who appreciates heavier/stiffer switch types.....enjoy that badboy! :D

Just did me some horse trading, swapped my Trigger Red for a first gen Ducky Shine MX Blue with green LED and I'm liking what I see. Green backlit keyboards look very nice, especially this Ducky Shine......I do have a green LED DS2, but that was with white key caps which took something away looks-wise. Gonna look for a Poker with green back light....anyway, here's a pic of the board, nothing special, but it does look great in 'person'. ;)
