Mechanical Keyboard Club!

Click jacket in those righ ? ... they sound good ... how is the feeling ?

Yep, they're click jackets. Glad you enjoyed the sound test! As for how they feel... Ahahaha... *nervous laughter*

Thing is, I bottom out on all my keys, and with my fingers brute-forcing their way downwards, I can barely feel any tactility. Might as well be clicky linears, for all my fingers care. 🤣

If I intentionally try to trigger the click, though, it clicks and registers a keystroke about a millimeter or less down. The bump is somewhat sharp, and I can apply a little bit of pressure before the switch gives in (for those concerned about accidental keystrokes). ...Or maybe I think the tactility is sharp 'cos the click sound is skewing my senses... (Placebo effect? 🤔) Anyway, it's handy for people that don't like heavy switches or that type lightly, methinks.

...Handy, ayyy...?

Tested with a few keys, and noticed some very, very minute inconsistencies in the tactility with the switches if I slowly and gingerly poke at the them. Most are quite sharp and clean, but a few others are a little bit "looser" and oddly "scratchy." A pressure that's gentle enough will even get the looser switches to actuate without the click being triggered. Non-issue for me, because I don't type that way normally; bottoming out on all my keystrokes gets the switch to click every time. But something to keep in mind if others are thinking of grabbing some to try, perhaps.

FUQ I FORGOT TO CLICKY THE TILDE KEY.

I do the same like 99% of the the with the exception being with the kailh box burnt orange which have a heavier spring than what I'm used to and I can sometimes not bottom out and type lightly, going just after the tactile point ... but it's not that often anyway so it's quite irrelevant.

Kailh Speed Bronze and NK Sherbet also use the click bar.

the kailh speed bronze being speed and having click bar sounds like something interesting to me. I liked the speed copper and I liked the box white so ... maybe those will be my next one to try out.

No, thank you.

Why not? They likely need cleaning anyway, and once you have them all open, might as well throw out the tactile leaf and have a very nice linear switch rather than increase reassembly time and have a very mediocre tactile one. Bamboo black Alps don't feel great, but linearized...man, so good.

And give up the tactility? I repeat: No, thank you. If I wanted a linear keyboard, I'd buy a rubber dome one.

Which one? I had an XT and while the switches were nice, the layout ruined it for me. I'd love an ANSI mod F122 but fuck if that's ever happening...

I own a (cleaned) XT. I'd love to have an AT, but those who have one prefer to use it themselves... for obvious reasons. ;)

My XT currently resides in the office. Yes, my colleagues love me. The layout is fine - I found that my fingers get used to new keyboard layouts rather quickly, so I have no problem switching between my F XT, my Unicomp PC122 and my MacBook keyboard. (The Dell one needs some time though - my first ANSI one.)

So let's assume that you just got $1000 and you have to spend it on a keyboard/keyboards or keyboard parts. What do you get with the money?

I would get:

- Tofu65 (acrylic, polycarbonate plate, foam installed)

- Zealios V2 62g (lubed with 205g0)

- POM Jelly keycaps

and

- NK65 Aluminum Edition (black, foam installed)

- Gateron Ink Black V2 (lubed with 205g0)

- GMK Dots keycaps

I wouldn't spend a grand on keyboards, but if I was absolutely forced to, I'd probably try to find a beamspring.

Can anyone help me solve a problem with my Keychron K2 V1 (RGB)?

I bought a used one online and the owner told me that the number keys won't work after a few minutes and he just wanted to sell it.

I bought it cheap and thought maybe I can figure out how to fix it.

However, I couldn't and I am still relatively new to mech keyboards.

Does anyone have an idea about how to fix it?

I tried it with and without cable connected.

It has nothing to do with sleep mode because every other key works fine.

I flashed the latest firmware and did nothing.

Any advice?
