How can install a fresh copy of windows 10 on a new ssd questions

AlanAlan

I have a HP Pavilion p2-1124 Desktop PC and it runs windows 7 and I want to upgrade to windows 10. I bought a new ssd so I can install a fresh install of windows 10 on the new ssd. How can I do that? How can I keep all my data from windows 7 drive? can I just leave the old data on the old drive and access it?

You can just leave the old data on the old drive. It's best to unplug it while you install Windows on the SSD, then afterwards you can plug the old HDD in again and have access to the data.

Of course it's always recommended to have a backup of all your important data.

Will all my windows 7 data still be there?

Yes. Even the Windows 7 install will still be there.

You might also need to get the windows 7 license off of your current drive if you are unplugging the old drive and installing windows 10 on the new one.
