So hey guys Im planning on upgrading an old machine from the late 90s maybe early 2000s I have not ordered any parts yet for the upgrade because I have a few questions. I need to know 1. If the pentium 3 in the PC can run unturned (Im planning on using this PC for an Unturned lan party with my friends) and 2. Im planning on upgrading the graphics card with an Radeon HD 5450 and Im wondering if that card will be compatible with the asus p3b-f motherboard. Also I dont know for sure that the cpu is a pentium 3 but based on the list of compatible cpus and the estimated age of this pc I think it is. I think it would be clocked at maybe 600 mhz. To add untop of everything I cant check the bios because the psu was some cheap one and died probably a few years ago.

Thanks in advance for helping out a newbie.

unturned require a pentium 4, so no.

According to steam, you need a 2ghz cpu at least, so no.

That motherboard supports Pentium 3's to 450-600mhz, so it's in between there.

No, it has AGP and PCI.

You should by:

New CPU

New GPU (5450 is fine)

More RAM (Requires 4gb at least)

New Motherboard

A PSU that is not dead

Maybe an IDE to SATA adapter or a new drive altogether.

Follow your topics.

What budget are you aiming for? Because it seems you need a complete platform change. Are you going used? What is your case size (MATX, ATX, MITX)?

I thought I had some money... Oh wait... I spent it all ;(

Umm... I'm not familiar with the graphics card you're using, but like he said, if theres a PCI-E slot itll work. If I were you, Id save up and get a new cpu and mobo for ~100 on ebay

I know it needs a pentium 4 but sometimes you can get away without having even the minimum specs.

unturned is one of those games that you really cant get around, and if the 5450 id a PCIE card, it wont work either.

Unturned on minimum requirements only needs 500mb of ram and I am planning on adding 3 new sticks of 256 mb of sdr ram so I should have plenty of ram, but really the whole point of the upgrade was to keep the cpu and motherboard. I was planning on getting a new gpu and a new psu, plus a whole lot of other little upgrades like wifi and an sd card slot. The case I believe is a matx.

Hmmm I see, I guess the pc wont be able to run unturned unless it gets a new cpu thats a bumber but I have another old pc thats a bit more powerful that I can upgrade, anyway thanks.
