I OC my G3258 to 4,2ghz with 1,350v ( Thats only stable for me) . Now i am running Prime 95 for about 15m. I just opened realtemp and saw that my CPU is 97C-100C hot. Is it safe. My fan is still not on max as i know. Am i in deep shit?

I always hear Prime95 is not good for Haswell, not sure if the G3258 is Haswell though. Either way, I would say:

- can you maybe try Aida64?

- if you are using the stock cooler: an aftermarket one will give better temp results

Yes, the G3258 is Haswell - specifically Haswell Refresh.

As mentioned above stop the test. Your cpu is probably still fine but you dont want to keep it underload in those conditions. Consider a beefier cooler or at least checking the thermal paste before overclocking it again.

The temperature on the CPU is very high. It is very close to hitting TJ Max.

2 heatpipe Deepcool cooler.

I'm pretty sure it's not mounted correctly or the thermal paste is not good. That cooler should be plenty for a small OC like that on a dual core.

Its most likly due to the cooler not being attached properly or not enough thermal paste. Also prime95 is not safe for haswell so use aida or something.

Get better cooling! I recommend the liquid cool h100i or the hyper 212 evo. Those are very dangerous, turn the machine off or get rid of the oc until you get a good cooler

An H100i... on a G3258, are you kidding me. The Hyper 212 evo is much more reasonable I prefer to recommend the Cryorig H7 because its quite lot stronger for only 2 or 3 dollars more.

prime 95 can be a heat virus because it pushes voltage a ton higher then you select. 100C is way to high. my i5 got 90C using prime 95 and 65C using aidia 64 same settings

Those are the extremely high temps; Reseat the cooler and Re-apply thermal paste
