PC Games Like Gran Turismo?

Hey guys, so I have been looking for a good racing game for ages now. By "good", I mean a game as much like the Gran Turismo series as possible. I had the game on PS3, and I loved the game so much. I thought about project cars, but then I realized that there was no vehicle customization. If there are no games like that, are there any PS3 emulators that are trustable?

There are no "simulator" racing games with good customization for PC. It's one or the other.

I'm not very far into the modern racing games, as I have no wheel and thus, no interest.

But if there's a game as good as Gran Turismo that's indie, I'd like to see that.

Project Cars? Assota Corsa? (or something like that)
