ASUS ROG GL551 Laptop, games not working in 1080p

on my ASUS ROG GL551 laptop, which has a Nvidia 960m and an Intel 4720HQ. Whenever I try and run any game in 1080p, the game will launch, but the entire thing will be moved to the bottom right portion of the screen. I cannot find anyone else who has had this problem online and have found no working solution. plz help .post-222829-0-46996600-1451442738_thumb.
