So I have $1700 to spend on a gaming PC, monitor and peripherals and I want to game in 1440p. This is the build that I have come up with so far, some advice would be helpful https://pcpartpicker...ed/#view=fjnfrH The reason there is no cpu cooler is because I don't have teh cash at the moment but I'll just buy a hyper 212 evo or something like that later.

I'm a beast

that build is all over the place, you'd be better to drop to a R9 390x, go up to 16gb of ram, and get your windows key from microsoftsoftwareswap as it's less than half the price of that license,

Intel i5-6600K@4.2GHz, 16GB Crucial DDR4-2133, Gigabyte Z170X-UD3, Be quiet shadow rock slim, Sapphire RX 480 Nitro+ OC, Fractal design Integra M 550W, NZXT S340, Sandisk X110 128GB, WD black 750GB, Seagate momentus 160GB, HGST 160GB

Why would I get 16gb of ram

because these days 8gb isn't enough, and a lot of games are favouring lots of ram both system and VRAM.

Not necessarily... 8 gb is more than enough unless you are building an op system... Plus upgrading to 16 is ez in the future.

Buy whatever product is best for you, not what product is "best" for the market.

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

Can you provide links to that data please?

I would be tempted to drop to a GTX 980 and use the savings to get a better psu and larger ssd.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
