I currently just got a lot of money for christmas, and i have around $400 to spend on a Mic, Headphones, mechanical keyboard,

and possibly an amp/dac if its needed. I was hoping to spend around $120-200 on a pair of headphones + amp if needed and I was looking for some help

on what to get.

So far i have looked at:

Sennheiser HD598-   http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD-598-Over-Ear-Headphones/dp/B0042A8CW2/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1451072070&sr=8-4&keywords=sennheiser

Audio Technica ATH-AD900X-   http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009S331VU?keywords=audio%20technica%20open%20back&qid=1451072094&ref_=sr_1_1&sr=8-1

Beyerdynamic DT 990-   http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Beyerdynamic-DT-990-Pro-250-Ohm-Studio-Headphones-Open-/161928364266?hash=item25b3aec0ea:g:hG0AAOSw3KFWfXq~

AKG Pro Audio K612pro-   http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Beyerdynamic-DT-990-Pro-250-Ohm-Studio-Headphones-Open-/161928364266?hash=item25b3aec0ea:g:hG0AAOSw3KFWfXq~

I was also going to get either an AT2020 mic or a blue snowball for youtubing and general use.

What in your guys' opinions is the best headphone and amp/dac/soundcard for that price range? I will be using them for Gaming, Listening to music on pc and possible on the go (phone)

Thanks and any help is appreciated!

You could replace the 598 with 558 since they're nearly the same in terms of sound.

The only one that really needs an amp is the AKG and maybe the Beyerdynamic depending on the version, while the others should be fine on your on-board unless you're experiencing noise.

Any one of them are a pretty decent choice though some people do not like the highs on Beyerdynamic headphones, so it's up to your preference.

Asking what the "best" is among comparable products is, if you'll forgive me, a lazy question.

It comes down to deciding what features and sound signature you want. In the latter, you pretty much need to guess based on reviews and impressions if you can't audition yourself.

I would go for the Sennheiser HD 558 because it is the same as the 598 for less money. Good balanced sound signature with nice treble, doesn't need an amp. large soundstage, and so on.

I would choose none of these headphones on the go. Their large, over-ear size, open backs, and inability to fold or collapse makes then unsuited for mobile use.

Ill look into those, thanks for the Help! Also do you know what store would have high end headphones like these? My bestbuy only has mainstream beats and gaming headsets
