Newer controller seems to lower the r/w speeds dramatically, though for 30 dollars it seems okay.

I have one of these in my laptop it does about 500 read and 200 write.  It's a lot better than my old 5400rpm HDD, but for 10 more dollars you can get something like an Adata SP550 that has twice the write speed.
