quick question about be quiet shadow wings 120mm

Hello,

 

I am just curious would it be bad if i screwed the be quiet! shadow wings 120mm fan and not use its fancy dancy mounting solution (which i used when i realized after screwing the fan but wanna know what would happend if i didnt!)?
