So recently I noticed that my SS Sensei [Not a ship] was not tracking as it is expected to. I bought this mouse in 2012, choosing laser since there would be a few situations where I have to use it on unconventional surfaces [Glass, etc]. Recently, when I tried to use it on a glass table, it simply wouldn't track, and I'm not sure what's wrong. What would be my next course of action? Purchasing a new mouse isn't on the list as of now, as I am a student and don't have any source of income to purchase a new peripheral. Thanks.

Uh, the sensei doesn't track on glass... Not well, St any rate. The only mice I know of that track well on glass are those Logitech ones with their dark field sensors or whatever.

Hey! New SIgnature!

I'm supposedly a person on the Internet, but you'll never know if I'm human or not ;)

I see... So does that mean that the reviewers are all lying about the sensei tracking on glass? And does it also mean that the Sensei isn't a laser mouse?

It will pick up movement for sure, just not very well, but so does even A3050.

Also you need to understand that the illumination source doesnt automatically force certain characteristics of the sensor, A9500 wasnt developed with surface compatibility in mind.
