Omg you people obviously don't live in Australia. My down is 20mbps and my up is 5mbps and that's on ethernet. It's worse on WiFi but I'm on the NBN (fibre) for god's sake.

That's Aussie internet for you though.

If only could get it in my area too.

*sigh* If I pay Richard Branson in blood, do you think I could get fibre wired up to my house? :P

Are they still planning on putting down fresh copper instead of actual fibre?

First world problems living in Britain...extremely low upload speeds unless you are a business (still 100down/40up for my school is pretty bad...)

No, I think they're leaving the copper (thank god) for the time being but as areas fully switch over to NBN, they'll then take the copper out (just a guess xD) but when my house got hooked up to the NBN, my dad cut the wire for the copper so we can go back to old-fashioned copper with our crap router that I can't find how to port forward.

They may be laying new copper in areas that aren't getting NBN for a while (I have family who live in the Adelaide Hills and they aren't getting it for another 20 years I think).
