What do you think of reddit PCMasterRace and their reasons for PC Over console?

First off, I'm no PC Elist, don't worry, I have NO PROBLEM with people playing on console, I myself plan on getting a PS4 in fact. But what do you guys think of the subreddit PCMR and their big explanation of how consoles "suck developers dry and are a monopoly to gaming" What do you guys think of all their claims n such? I myself have a nice gaming rig and am a PC Gamer but I am by NO MEANS a PC Elitists. What do you guys think of that subreddit though?

I believe that the consoles are way inferior than decent PC hardware these days, and I think that while a console will often times be more convenient, everything else will be better on PC. Think about better multiplayer, fewer squeakers...

I personally have no problems with console: good budget option at some fallbacks. What really annoys me is when console people say that they are better in every imaginable way and that consoles are a supreme option for everyone.

So in that case, what do YOU think of console gaming despite all that?

I think that most of what is posted on there is hilarious and whilst there is a general view on (UG UG PC GOOD UG CONSOLE BAD UG UG UG) its just a bit of banter.

I don't really think that much of it. I've never owned a console other than a Wii, DS Lite and a GameBoy Color. Nintendo still has the content down imo, which is why I'm all for emulating their games on PC, because with a good PC you can make their brilliant, fun, innovative games look even more amazing. It's Microsoft and Sony who've really lost the plot in my mind. $60 for a game that can't run far beyond 900p at 30fps on a machine that costs upwards of $400? I'm sorry... My $50 7770 could do that for any game that the consoles have, apart from exclusives, which is a stupid model.

 

All this bickering and arguing about the consoles and PC being better than each other is the result of a haywire inferiority complex, caused by the console makers in 2012/13 turning round, brandishing their shiny new consoles, only to find that in the six years prior, PCs had tripled in performance, far exceeding that of the consoles, which are stuck with a 1.8GHz AMD CPU that bottlenecks the GPU, and a GPU that can't even match its desktop brother, the humble Radeon HD 7870, despite having the same number of shaders.

I'd say thats more so for the Xbox One but me personally, I don't judge a game by its graphics. I'm personally aiming for a PS4 because of the exclusives that are sparking my interest, I personally care MUCH more about gameplay though I do admit PC in the end is the best platofrm, I have nothing against the PS4 or Wii U simply because of their simplicity and exclusives

people buy console for convenience. thats about it. You should know PS4 and Xbox1 far outsells pc in games. As a result, developers spend more time on coding for console than on pc. Most newer games come out on console first and only ported to pc later on. good example, gta v. It wasnt 3 years after when they did a pc port.

Consoles always have to play catchup to the PC when it comes to graphical and processing power.
