Lg G3 updating to Marshmellow, should I be worried?

I have a rooted G3 running the stock rom and I was literally about to mod my phone again when I noticed it was "downloading new software" so I did a quick google search and found out it's updating to 6.0. In the past when I tried update to 5.0.1 with a rooted device it wouldn't even download because it was rooted so should I be fine or will it screw everything up?

Also since I'm sure it's not gonna work is there an easy way to unroot a phone so I can update to 6.0? I'd rather not factory reset my phone if I don't have to.

I have an HTC One M8, and I do not know if firmware is similar to the LG G3, but for my device, it is not going to update to the next version that my carrier releases since I am not on the stock recovery. So if it did not download when you were rooted for the 5.0.1 update, you are probably on a custom recovery such as TWRP IF it is the same case as the M8. You will most likely find more information on XDA Developers sub-forum for the LG G3.
