Can i run a 980ti and 980 in the same system for more displays? NOT IN SLI

Im not actually using a 980ti and 980 i was just wondering because when pascal comes out im gonna sell one of my 980s and keep one for extra monitors or folding.

a lot of people use quadros and a 980ti in their workstations. the 980ti is usually for physx. 

do you hook up the quadro to the displays or the 980ti?

GTX 980ti can power up to 5 monitors...and some gigabyte models can power 6 monitors...you need more than that?
