Sound issue - VERY Quiet voices / Everything else okay

DocShay

So awhile ago I noticed, once in awhile when playing video files the voices were non-existent, or very barely audible.

Uninstalled VLC, Uninstalled Realtek Audio Driver - Reinstall - Boom fixed.

Now, on and off this kept happening. Today, I did the normal (above mentioned) - and to my surprise - It did not fix it.

I notice this only appears to happen with high definition video files - standard XVIDS and non-HD files play as per normal.

running out of ideas on something to try, any suggestions?

Are you plugging your headphones into the audio jack on the motherboard or the front panel connector audio jack? My front panel audio jack gives much more sound than my motherboard audio jack.

More info: This is for my regular stereo speakers, not headphones. Using the standard  plug on the mobo side.

My USB headphones work just dandy.
