ISO ultra wide monitor mostly for gaming

isbilly

I am looking for an ultra wide 144hz monitor.  I was looking at the the X34 Predator, but it's a LOT of money and it only goes to 100hz.  I'd really like to keep it around $500-$800.  I am currently using an Asus PB287Q 28.0" but it's only 60hz and I'd really like to get a better refresh rate.  Was hoping to jump into a 34" ultra wide, but if it's not possible, then it's just not possible.  I play pretty much all types of games, currently I play a lot of Star Wars Battlefront, CS:GO, Tomb Raider (soon), Batman Games, Shadow of Mordor, Solitaire.  You get the idea.....  Really appreciate any help with this.

Here is my build:

CPU: Intel Core i7-3770K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: Corsair H105 73.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
Motherboard: MSI Z77A-G41 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard
Memory: Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
Storage: Western Digital Green 4TB 3.5" 5900RPM Internal Hard Drive
Video Card: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB Video Card
Case: Corsair Vengeance C70 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case
Power Supply: Corsair 850W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 Pro (64-bit)

The X34 really the only option other than that BenQ UW monitor, but its curved, only 2560X1080, and still comes in with a large price tag

I would say just get the new ROG Swift PB279Q.

4690K // 212 EVO // Z97-PRO // Vengeance 16GB // GTX 770 GTX 970 // MX100 128GB // Toshiba 1TB // Air 540 // HX650

Logitech G502 RGB // Corsair K65 RGB (MX Red)

LG is pumping out some new UW's soon that will be shown at CES early next month. I'm hoping maybe another gsync UW gets announced. I might sell my dual 980 ti's and switch to team red, because there's just so much much much more freesync options to choose from.

Any major flaw with the BenQ XL2730Z? 27", 144hz, 2560 x 1440, 16 x 9 Aspect Ratio....seems like a great deal.  then i can get a 34" in a couple years when technology allows.

Or am I making a big mistake not getting one with Gsync since I have a 980 ti G1?
