Hello, I have now saved up around 179 pounds. As I have said in the previous posts I have made, I really want an I5 4690k, since it is one of the cheapest CPUs that will not bottleneck a 980 ti. as of today an I5 4690k is on sale for 169 pounds on Amazon, but I will not be able to afford a motherboard. I could get the 4590k just in case the sale ends, but I wondered if there are any cheaper Intel CPUs that will not bottleneck a 980 ti. Thanks as always.

I'm confused, why mention not being able to afford a motherboard? What's your current one?

If you make a post contradicting mine that doesn't directly address my claims, or cites 'facts' without evidence, I'm probably not going to bother responding to it, because you probably didn't bother reading my post properly, and because life is too short. It doesn't mean I don't have an answer for you. It means I'm not dignifying you with a response.

since I am running an Amd fx 6300 I have an amd chipset. I am switching over to Intel because I need a cpu with enough horsepower to drive a 980 ti

Ah oki the 4690k doesn't sound like an option. It depends what games you play. If like me you play mostly strategy, then it's an issue, and I'd look at that used 4790k. If it's less cpu intensive genres then anything from a 4460 up should be just fine.
