This is a valid option from Dell

Or this from MSI

Avoid Asus, Gigabyte and Acer for lower-class gaming laptops

Acer and Gigabyte have some serious overheating issues whereas Asus have completely removed any form of quality control so now 40% of their laptops sold are bricked in one way or another

If you're just playing CS: GO, then maybe something like this would work http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B012IBOBLM/ref=as_li_ss_tl?%20ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B012IBOBLM&linkCode=as2&tag=gamilaptunde1-20 Not a very demanding game, so anything with some moderate power should be just fine.

(Edit: There's 2 options, click on the one with the i5)

You are very wrong friend. That Acer has a crappy CPU that will perform about 50-60% worse than a proper CPU since it's a "U" chip as in ultra-low voltage thus meaning it performs 20% lower than the i5 4200H and 50% slower than a i7 4720HQ.

As for Acer, they overheat a LOT. Their build quality is also terrible, whatever they choose to call it, that laptop is still made of glorified plastic that folds like cardboard. I've done my research when buying, Acer = bad.

Not going to disagree with you, but by looking at the user reviews some even quote "very good beginner gaming laptop." He also stated UNDER 600$, so options are limited.

940M is a Kepler GPU - quite crappy.

That's a GPU to run LoL or Hearthstone, CS:GO needs a good 140fps so as to not have input lag and for that you pretty much need a 850m/950m paired with a decent CPU with strong cores

Are AMD gpu's anygood? Specifically the one in the y40

It's better than the 940M

EDIT: Because it has better cooling in that notebook and won't thermal throttle
