Hello everyone, like the title says, I'm trying to find out which of those two is better, I've been trying to do research but since they're new it's hard to find comparisons. Which do you think is better? Thank you for your input! Have a nice day.

Maximus is likely worse value, but more features.

I have the Deluxe. Its fantastic. I love the color scheme and it has all the features i care to use.

 

The Maximus can support up to 3866mhz RAM (OC) while the Deluxe only supports 3466(OC)

Maximus has 3X3.0 PCIe slots

Maximus allows for one extra SATA Express slot. 

 

Basically, if you need a 3rd PCIe slot or you like the color better of the Maximus better, go with that. Whatever fits your build :)

Better for what? I would go with the Maximus VIII if i could. Better to have useless features that you might need than needing more features (not saying the deluxe is feature-weak but...)

It's for gaming and you're right, it's better to have and not use than to need and not have.

The Maximus is only for looks and if you have money to blow... and bragging rights.

 

If you're going Red/Black build then take a look at the ASUS Z170 PRO-GAMER.

But the aesthetic on that one isn't as good. I am a bit of a looks guy when it comes to this, specially since I'm spending over $2,000 in the built, I want it to look the best it can.

not really, since they have nearly the similar features... i would save money and get that and put the extra somewhere else.

tbh the extreme is pretty bad for the price. it has no plx chip and it doesn't even oc as well as board that cost over 50% less.

I've been reading up and people say there's a lot of problems with z170 chipset at the moment? Is it worth it to buy them in this early stage instead of getting a 4790k?
