Im searching for a cheap but good cpu for a build that im using for a storage server any one know good ones preferably a quad core also if u want leave PC part picker links something under $300

for a storage server, practically anything. Celerons are a common suggestion for NASs

ya that is what i might do because i would like a computer that i can also put a cap card in so i can stream without using the power of my main rig because a nad does ent use much horsepower so i can just use the rest for like encoding or streaming or something

For that scenario, just look at LGA771 Xeons and motherboards for them (including LGA775 motherboards if you want to do a socket mod-P45 chipsets preferred).
