I have problem with removing motherboard from case.

Hello,

I was trying to switch my case but I had a problem. I saw two cables from the small thing called WLAN in my motherboard connected to case and there is no easy way to separate them. I have couple question.

1. What is this for ?

2. Can I just cut it ?

3. How should I disconnect it to change the case ?

WLAN is for wifi

that card should slide out

you can also remove the two wires from the brass terminals

If you decide you want wifi remove the two wires take off the front panel and remove the two metal plates then snake the wire through the holes

Thats that. If you need to get in touch chances are you can find someone that knows me that can get in touch.

you can disconnect the cables

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

It's a Wifi card.  Try pinching those black tabs on the side and see if it comes loose.  You can also try pushing it in or taking the Wifi card off the motherboard.

That would be a wifi module.

You can unscrew the cables or remove the entire module by unscrewing the black screw.

Most likely a HP desktop. Just gently tug at the black and white cables near the gold connectors and it will separate from the card. Still want wifi then you'll have to get a separate wifi card.
