Building a PC for a Friend and for myself

WolfKompany

G'day guys, I am still new to PC building and was just wondering if someone would be able to help me out with these 2 PC builds to see if I selected the right parts?

My friends PC Build:

Get cheaper ram, maybe gskill blue ones?

And also a better cheaper case, H440 blue? (Actually more expensive but ITS SO GOOD)

GTX 970 Please :D:D

Also both power supplies are pretty bad, get seasonic PSU or XFX ones.

If you want cheaper alternatives, than the EVGA G2 GS ones are also really good.

I assume these are for gaming?

They seem fine to me, but I wuldn't bother with the cooler on your friends build as it is a non-k CPU, and the stock cooler will do fine, maybe a little on the loud side under load.

Also, that case you picked out for yourself looks badass, i have never seen it before!

When in doubt, re-format.

I have 2 Power Supplies I am comparing currently, the one I linked to you just than and this one: https://www.pccasegear.com/products/23489

I'm thinking the Seasonic one would be a better choice than the Corsair one would be?

The seasonic one you had before was alright.

Sorry if i sound confusing, played wayyyy too much badminton today.

Also i recommend getting a better CPU cooler, water cooler?

As the 212 can be loud. And red is something i would add to the build.

Also would a DVD Drive be needed? Cause I just realised I forgot to add one into both builds.

Instead of getting a 4x4 pack of RAM I would get a 2x8 pack of RAM so you can add more instead of replacing the whole stack.  It'll be cheaper for you too.

That may be but it doesn't make sense to buy a 4x4 pack of RAM when you want to upgrade RAM you'll have to replace the whole set.  It's easier to add a 2x8 stack of RAM if you already have a 2x8 stack already in place.  Also it would be better on the OP's pocket since he lives in Australia and he can get another set at a later time if he sees that he needs it.  It's an easier upgrade path that's why I said to get a 2x8 stack of RAM.

Gaming 16GB is more than enough, also having all four slots field have a certain advantage.

Quad channel memory is faster than your regular old dual channel, so it is actually better if a gamer gets 4 sticks.

Hey Xenift, with the case it isn't compatible with All-in-one Water Cooling System Solutions, so I selected the parts for a water cooling system and was just wondering if I could run it by you and see if I selected good parts?

Are you sure you want to hard pipe?

It is going to be really difficult.

Just get a H100i

And for the GPU get a current hybrid one.

Also i am not well versed in hard piping components, you would need to consult someone who did it before, i suggest making a new post for it.
