My PC runs games really well, it's very very bad at running browsers.

980 ti

5820k

700w Roswell

1tb HDD

x99A msi

16GB DDR4 corsair (4x4)

x61 Kraken

Windows 10 Pro

This is the first PC I built by myself. It runs games very very well, like it should. But when it comes to browsers it has difficulty. The page freezes all the time, and I have to refresh it constantly. While watching twitch it can work fine for the most part, but then 20m later everything stops working. I will have to close out google, and fire twitch back up again to get it working. Usually to get a site or action working again I have to refresh 1-3 times. I have no idea why this is. I tryed updating all the drivers and everything. It's very frustrating. Halp

I get 60 down, 4 up. I'm using chrome. I just used explorer, it's lightning fast compared to my chrome. I think I updated adobe shockwave because it told me it crashed once turning a twitch.tv freeze. Like sometimes it happens to my steam as well. I have to log out of steam and restart steam to get something besides my library to work. But explorer is working for now. Could it possibly be the CPU? or possibly Windows 10? What's wrong with chrome? Thanks for the fast replies holy moly.

(the reason why I say CPU, is because when I was building it I layed it in the socket in the wrong direction. I didn't put the lever down or anything ofc.)

......... beacon......... https://www.safer-networking.org/spybot-anti-beacon/

should be stickied around the web.

the cpu, if you didn't bend any pins it might not matter. who kows, maybe there's enough power in the board from stored power or cmos battery to do damage?? never heard of it though.

want to edit. the water cooler denies proper air circulation around the cpu the way it normally would with a down draft HS&F. maybe doing something to cool that area?

A CPU issue wouldn't cause only one program to be buggy, nor will placing it backwards with no power or attempt to lock it in with force harm a CPU.
