Broadwell pentium 3825U with HT vs Broadwell I3 5005U ?

Srock97

Newer Broadwell pentium has first time Hyper threading feature

Both Pentium and i3 looks similar in specification

Pentium 3825U - 1.9ghz , 2mb cache , HT

I3 5005U - 2.0ghz , 3mb cache , HT

As both were broadwell , HT and almost same clock speed at same TDP of 15W.- only cache 1 mb difference .

Does there will be any significant performance difference ?  Price is differ by 115$

i know Pentium is value and core i3 is performance line , but with 3825U its look similar

I wouldn't exactly call the i3 a performance chip, but you are right by the looks of it, they are similar with the i3 being slightly ahead

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

Performance in on bored graphics? i3 has a small boost of better graphics and has some extra features like data protection and OS Guard.

Wow this was old as heck, Need to update this signature!

Not concerned about graphics on laptop. I have separate desktop for it.

Here talking about performance in multitasking , speed at which work done and file accessing or General navigation speed between both these processors. If difference is not significant then I can save 115$. Extra feature like data protection or os gaurd also doesn't matter to me..but worried about 2mb cache as compared to i3 3mb cache.

Its practically going to perform the same in almost every task.

Thanks alot for reply. I was first considering haswell i3 4005u then I have seen 3825U which looks better on specs then compared it to 5005U which looks similar. So should I go for 3825U as value for money ?

One thing I would like to ask.

which is better for laptops among HP , DELL & ACER.

3825U laptop price is 300$ and 5005U is 400$ in both HP & ACER.

DELL don't have 3825U here and 5005U is 500$

all with linux. For genuine Windows around 100$ Extra.

3825u as its pretty much an i3 with 1MB less L2 cache and 0.1GHz slower

does 1mb less cache is noticiable ? I play no games in laptop.
