How do I transfer files from HDD to HDD?

unknownindividual
Go to solution Solved by -rascal-,

Really?

  • Connect the 320GB HDD to your system (via SATA or put in a USB HDD enclosure)
  • Find your personal files on your 1TB HDD
  • Copy / Cut
  • Switch over to your 320GB HDD.
  • Paste.

What I have right now is:

320gb HDD: Empty

1tb HDD: My personal files and OS

I want to move my personal files to the 320gb since I am going to use my 1tb for a build. I want to know how to transfer the files so the final result would be:

320gb: My personal files but no OS

1tb: Only OS and none of my personal files

I also need a FREE way to do this. i have found many options but they all cost money.

Copy your data on the small hdd and either format the 1 TB hdd and reinstall windows, or use the windows reset tool.

who cares...

This sounds even more dumb than the topic itself but where do I find the files to copy and paste?

Here buy this, it will help you find those files.  Sandwich it between the 2 drives.  All the files from the 1TB will automatically be attracted and get transferred to the 320GB HDD.

What exactly do you mean by your "personal files"? Pictures, music, videos etc.?
