DVI to HDMI is your best bet. Both are the same technology.

The Dell U2515H takes DisplayPort and HDMI inputs.
So in this case you'll simply need a DVI-D or DVI-I to Displayport or HDMI adapter.

A DVI-I to Displayport adapter looks something like this:

DVI to HDMI is your best bet. Both are the same technology.

DVI, DisplayPort, and HDMI are all digital. With DVI to DisplayPort, you just need an adapter just like with DVI to HDMI. Converters are not necessary.

Edit: In order to use a DVI to Displayport adapter, it needs to be active.

The pins in HDMI connectors and DVI-D connectors are all the same. Displayport isn't the same.

The cable length is for the most part is a non-issue.

  • 2 weeks later...

DVI does not adapt to DisplayPort. Those cables only work from DisplayPort on your GPU to DVI on your display.

Eleven days after i placed order and few days before my shipment arrives i see this post. I guess i will have opportunity to prove to myself that i made wrong choice while shopping.

Next stop DVI to HDMI adapter.

 Right !
