games like forza are only fun with friends.

I can concur with this^

Without people to play with forza gets boring really fast, and I don't recommend the series as a whole

well, 5 has more cars, more tracks, and less microtransactions

No it doesn't, FM5 has less cars, less tracks, and more micro transactions. Not to mention that FM6 has night and rain racing also, which was not in FM5. And it runs at a rock solid 1080p@60fps.

@Dan Castellaneta The micro transactions in FM6 can be hidden via an option in the "HUD" menu, and they are not needed at all. You get free cars and in game credits from the in game prize spins, and credit rewards are plentiful in races and rivals mode. Not to mention even more credits via "forza rewards", which increase as your "tair" level increases (this is separate from in game level). And free cars are given out from T10 all the time, usually with a special paint design on them denoting a new film/game/racing event, or even just celebrating a particular season such a Christmas. Since the game released we have been given at least 3 new DLC cars added for free, all Nissan. both road and race cars. 2 Ford mustangs gifted, the normal version and the Shelby GT500, both with halo designs painted on them. A Ford pickup truck with a fallout 4 design on it, and even more gifts such as those.

Forza can actually be good fun, even if you have no friends to play it with at first. There is full car painting, including the creation of intricate vinyl designs. There is a full upgrade and tuning system, so you can customize the performance of your chosen car in any way you wish. The drivatars can provide a little challenge, but they are fairly slow, and brake in some weird places. The multiplayer can be a crash fest, but that is the same in the majority of racing games with an online component. Even iRacing has some people crashing on purpose. There is clean multiplayer racing to be had on Forza though, as there are groups of people who run racing series, as well as tandem drifting competitions using private rooms. Over on the official Forza forums, you can find like minded people to race with, discuss tuning with, and even painting. Not to mention there is a thriving photography element inside the game and community, as well as plenty of Forza video based content such as montages and lets plays by some decent youtubers. Such as

Fail Race: https://www.youtube.com/user/FailRace

AR12Gaming: https://www.youtube.com/user/AR12Gaming

MrAeroHD: https://www.youtube.com/user/MrAeroHD/featured

And more such as those.

As for if the game is worth it, that is really up for you to decide. I play Forza a fair bit, as well as various PC racing games such as Assetto, iRacing, and Dirt Rally. It is a different game, it is fun and enjoyable, and isnt as serious in nature as the other 3 games I listed. Has plenty of options for things to do in game. It does have fairly mediocre wheel support, as racing wheels for the Xbox one have to be licensed by MS. And the FFB isn't the best in the racing game industry, but with a licensed wheel, it is still a lot of fun. And they are still very usable. I use a racing wheel with Forza.

This.  I picked up Forza Horizon 2 a couple of weeks ago and it's far more fun that the previous Forza MotorSport titles I played on the 360.  I'm really hoping Horizon 3 comes out in 2016!
