Acer XB270HU backlight bleed

SleepTheDruid

Hey guys, I recently purchased an Acer XB270HU online and I've tested it for bleed to check if everything's fine. I noticed a smudge of light near the bottom right corner of the screen, spreading towards the bottom end and a bit on the right end too. I don't know if this is worthy of a return/RMA because I've seen many cases of bleed in these monitors that are way worse (being that this happening in the bottom right corner of these monitors is rather common), so I risk getting an even worse model in return, but on the other hand the bleed is there and it is noticeable in the pictures, I'm not sure if that would be a nuisance after using the monitor for some time. Pics were taken with the monitor set at full brightness, in different light exposures for comparison. Wanted to know if someone can help me tell if this is RMA worthy or not.

Cheers :)

You must be kidding. That level of backlight bleed is unheard of. It's nearly non-existent.

It's a bit under-noticed here, but wanted to check for sure, this is the first time I spend this much money on a monitor  :D

Even so, just one corner of very slight backlight bleed is ridiculous. Most people get 3 or 4 corners. Mine has 2.

If it's possible, mine lost it's bleed in a few months. Maybe placebo effect, IDK.

That's a great IPS panel. Lucky. Very little IPS glow, not backlight bleed. BLB is yellow/orange. IPS glow is silver/blue.

The difference isn't the color. IPS glow is a haze that washes out dark parts of the image when viewed at an angle. It disappears when viewed straight on.

Backlight bleed is from the backlight leaking through from the edges, and looks the same from any angle.

You are correct about the angles. I went through 70+ pages on the acer forum about the X34 issues about an hour before I posted. Both the color and the angle viewed is how to determine acceptable backlight bleed.
