How do famous people interact with each other on Twitter?

I'm just curious to know how people with thousands of followers on Twitter like famous athletes or even... Linus get notified when their relatives or other famous people interact with them. I mean when they tweet something, they instantly get a ton of replies, and they also receive tons of tweets every day from random people, so how do they know when someone they care about interacts with them.  Do they have to choose manually when they should get notified?

They have a modified version of morse code they text to each other that they can fill out.

i dunno, I don't use twitter myself, I just have it. No one tweeted at me yet.
