How soon will the haswell cpus be on sale? What do you guys rhink? Go on my i3 skylake build or wait for the i5 4690k to go on sale?

Why don't I go consult my crystal ball and see what it can tell me about the future.  In the meantime, the spirits are advising me to tell you to go take a 110m long length of wool yarn, go to the top of a 100m tall building and bungee jump off the side with that yarn tied around your ankles.

The 4690k will never be as cheap as the i3,it will be less expensive on sale,but not that much

Go check the prices of things like the i5-4670k from the earlier haswell days (4690k being Devils Canyon afterall). We don't get massive discounts on CPUs because the difference between i5-3XXXk to i5-4XXXk to i5-6XXXk is minimal.

Guys quit being so dickish :/. 

 

So i'm not sure when Haswell CPU's will go back on sale, maybe around christmas time or maybe just after christmas if you can snag a quick deal. but it'll be a while yet till a 4690k is as cheap as an i3 (probably a good number of years looking at the 2500K and all now)

 

but i noticed you said you had a Z170 board? why not a 6600k?
