A HP Stream for my girlfriend, because she just started college and does not have a laptop to take to school or a desktop to do her online assignments at home. Currently, she tries using her cracked iPhone or we go to the public library together. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B015CQ8RO2/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1449740510&sr=8-1π=SX200_QL40&keywords=HP+-+Stream+13.3%22+Laptop+-+Intel+Celeron+-+2GB+Memory+-+32GB+eMMC+Flash+Memory+-+Violet+Purple&dpPl=1&dpID=51mluqBXywL&ref=plSrch

I would like to give my mom a Chromebook, specifically the ASUS Chromebook 13.

Amazon link here:

http://www.amazon.com/ASUS-Chromebook-Inch-Gigabit-Storage/dp/B015ZD702C/ref=sr_1_3?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1449741595&sr=1-3&keywords=Asus+Chromebook+13

List price: $229.00

Current price: $202.30

Why?

My mom spends most of the time surfing the web and shopping online. She usually use her office laptop (because the home computer is too slow) and the problem with that is a lot of things are restricted. I believe a Chromebook is the perfect solution to this as she is not really tech-savvy and does not need Windows or Mac for most of her casual stuff. I picked out the ASUS Chromebook 13 as it looks great (really cheerful colour) and it is not too heavy (3.1 pounds). The 4GB RAM version would make her web surfing experience better. The only thing that I am concerned is the 16GB of storage, which may not be enough. Thankfully, there is an SD card slot.

I think my mom will love it.

Thank you for reading!

For my father, A portable DAC for his VERY old samsung phone. He is a DJ and always wanted to back to a CD player because of their quality sound. It would help to make his dream come true with the Beyerdynamic A200p that's going for 150 bucks. It would really make my father happy to enjoy his music when he's off to work at a 12 hour shift almost everyday.

What a wonderful competition!

I would love to give my 62 year old mom a 10" tablet this year for christmas to help her with her medical condition. Unfortunately, she suffers from a severe heart disease and has to take 14 different pills every day (not including the Nitroglycerin and asthma sprays) and sometimes mixes them up, making her feel bad. So to make things easier for her, a tablet with a nicely readable and big screen would be a really relief for both of us to help her organze her schedules -- she would feel better and I would know that she is not mixing her pills up anymore -- as smartphones displays are too small for her to read.

A Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7 (or similar) for currently 249.99 USD would be awesome for this.

Thanks you guys for this opportunity and Merry XMas! :)

Greetings fellow techies..techies?..am..am i a hispter now? -shakes head- Anyway!

I've chosen a Core i5 4690k as my chosen gift.
http://www.amazon.com/Intel-Core-i5-4690K-Processor-BX80646I54690K/dp/B00KPRWB9G/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1449740494&sr=8-1&keywords=Intel+Core+i5+4690k

I've selected this gift to be given to my Father. He's always been there to help with things I was unable to do on my own, taught me many values. I'd like to use this giveaway as a way to tell him thank you for all hes done. He understands my passion for technology and i'd like to take this opportunity to share it with him.

My father whom as a child used to be the tech savvy person in the family, Once upon a time even considered having a small business for computer repair and sales. Over the years that desire eventually faded as a few life hardships forced him to focus on other things more important and with each passing year becoming further out of touch with the latest technologies available and even the best deals. Over the years as I began getting my first jobs and having spending money of my own I began reading up on technical documents and even a certain Tech Tips channel and began to learn a lot about computers.

Although my climb to knowledge was still incomplete with a few things I still wasn't sure about when my Father wished to upgrade his PC, my Translation and what ended up going to our local tech store, and eventually what they talked my father down to..ended up being nothing close to what I had in mind. We had a budget of a certain amount for his PC and not only did we barely make said budget, but the components we got VS what we had in mind were many steps below what could've been gotten. Currently hes stuck with a Core i3 4150?..something which was fine enough to get the computer running, but not nearly enough to give him a smooth sailing gaming experience for his favorite games.

Would buy my parents a set of surround sound speakers for the living room. They already have a 60 inch 1080p tv, so the speakers would make a great improvement.

At the moment, they are $222.20 with prime.

Internet Radio to my parents.

One small step for my parents, but a big step to be less Non-techies.

http://www.amazon.com/DIGITAL-GDI-SXBR1-SiriusXM-Business-Internet/dp/B00MYWNDUG/ref=sr_1_266?ie=UTF8&qid=1449737213&sr=8-266&keywords=radio+internet&refinements=p_n_condition-type%3A6461716011

Why?

  • Old radio is old, digital but old and Got that screechy sound.
  • My parents looks after their grandson, so with this radio and Any smartphone, thay can have a Digital Nanny (listen if kiddy is breathing, crying, etc.)
  • My mom is learning english and german (I think such a radio could help Her with good pronunciation).
  • My father doesn’t watch TV almost at all, bt He listening to the radio few hours per day, political brodcast mainly.
  • I showed them Internet radios brodcast web sites but its nedded to turn on computer.
  • I can stream them my voice (pranks, music, audiobooks, whatever is needed).

PS. sorry for my english :] It's so much easier to listen rather then write down something.

My fiancée is in her second year of work saving up to do a masters in Evolutionary and Behavioural Ecology (whatever that is.. something with animals, amirite?) and a massive part of her work involves studying the habits and everyday to-ing and fro-ing of various critters.  As an unashamedly untechy person (literally only just got her to upgrade her phone from a galaxy s2 and still rocking a 8 year old Advent laptop - still runs Sims 2 tho) this means she has to spend a good volume of time doing the actual observing as there are a limited number of cameras available at our university to borrow, and unsurprisingly the lecturers and research teams have them booked a lot of the time.

So, as this glorious offer dropped into my YouTube Sub box, I thought I could pass the burden of payment onto Linus allowing me to save my hard earned student supplies on noodles and beer.

The Ltl Acorn 6310WMC is the camera of choice, because it can record in delicious HD meaning all the little Jackdaws' and Robins' facial expressions will be clear to see (no idea if they frown or not, but who knows until you record it in HD, eh?) and it can record in the dark! Science magic. It's under £200 on our British Colonial Amazon, which assuming the dollar doesn't bomb it in the next few weeks is well under the $300 limit.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00V35XH4W/

If by some Bethlehemesque Christmas miracle I (well, she) wins then I pledge to send in some footage of squirrels bumming or robins fighting, whatever seems most appropriate for the LTT community.

Good luck to everyone and hope you all have a very merry Christmas :D

Id love to give these headphones to my dad, hes really into good audio but he has really old equipment and I don't think he owns a great pair of headphones hehe... he does have some cool old school sound system equipment though, i just think he needs better headphones.

I can relate with your story about how your family used to be tech savvy and not its not, I feel like that happened to my dad... or maybe i just had this different image of him as a child, because he was really into computers back when i was a kid and now hes much more passive about it and I guess I'm more passionate about it.

Anyways heres the link and thanks for doing this, its nice to see people remembering to give back to the community in the holiday season, it shows that you really appreciate what you have already received.

I would give some kind of SoundSystem to my parents, cause they got a BIG TV but only the internal Mono-Speaker and they got some trouble to understand the people talking in a movie.
Would be some kind of this maybe:  http://www.amazon.de/Bose-Solo-Sound-System-schwarz/dp/B0117RGXC8/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1449741816&sr=8-2&keywords=tv+audio+system

Thank you LTT for this giveaway.

I would get my Best friend and his wife the Steam link + Controller. Being that their computer is in a whole different room than their big screen tv and how simple the Steam link interface is to those who are already familiar with steam, it would make the perfect gift. Also they play a lot of sims/tycoon/civilization games so the contoller would make it a lot more enjoyable to play at the couch rather than a keyboard and mouse. :)

EDIT: So after looking around just a bit more it turns out PS4's are cheap with certain bundles, and as much as a cool screen would be, he'd probably kill someone to get hands on FFXV or Bloodborne and so

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B016P6KIFY/ref=twister_B00Z9TLGOG?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

how ever, if the price goes up for some reason than the other option would be just as good!

My younger brother is getting a $1k pc for christmas, he's been saving for a long time now, and so i though instead of giving him one of my old screens i could end up winning this and getting him and amazing screen!

So after searching US amazon for something xD I finally found something under 300!! and its a 144Hz

I'd like to get my dad a new laptop for his office work, since he's still stuck with an old 2004-ish machine, and doesn't have much of a budget to upgrade.

It would be great for him to get a much faster machine, especially since the old laptop's already starting to show its age.
