My mother always stream video on her android phone but last week she broke it and so i want her a good android tablet so she could watch video in relatively big screen.Any good tablet with good screen resolution will do.

I would like to give a Samsung TV to my father, since his old big fat TV got broken recently, and he watched a lot before it was broken, now he has to use my old laptop to watch something he likes.

And i'm just a student, that can't afford anything since i don't have a job.

I would get my uncle the Connected Car Adapter, With him busy with maintaining his business 24/7 His semi new 2012 Honda is always getting check engine lights and bad oil readings left and right because he doesnt have time to go somewhere to check it, With this its a simple plug and connect via app kind of deal. The app can tell him what the check engine light means and other information like fuel savings.

Space Journal #1: So Apparently i  was dropped on the moon like i'm a mars rover, in a matter of hours i have found the transformers on the dark side of the moon. Turns out its not that dark since dem robots are filled with lights, i waved hi to the Russians on the space station, turns out all those stories about space finding humans instead of the other way around is true(soviet Russia joke). They threw me some Heineken beer and I've been sitting staring at the people of this forum and earth since.

Ive been trying to help my dad get a computer let him be able to play the few games he wants to play such as Rocksmith since his computer is out dated and the ram and psu went bad he now need a new computer to be able to do what he needs since he doesn't currently have the money to buy his own. This the the build i made that would be more than enough for what he needs.

My dad still insists on using an old make G5 Xeon and he keeps bugging me on if there are 2TB SSDs out and I keep giving him the same answer. He wants an SSD for the system disk so it doesn't take 4 and a half minutes to boot every time. I think the best tech present for a non-techie, under 300$, is the Google OnHub Wireless Router from Google and TP-LINK, My parents always complain about their internet and how slow it is, so I got them a repeater, internet still slow! Told them to upgrade to 25 up, still slow!!! Than I realized that they were still using the stock Bell router/modem. So now I'm planning on upgrading it and the OnHub seems like a pretty solid choice it's easy to use and to set up (but i'll be setting it up anyways no matter how easy it is). And according to your review of it looks like a really good and reliable router.

I would love my older cousin to get a new pair of headphones because he is aspiring to be a producer ,but only has is a pair of a cheap Turtle Beach headset and doesn't know much about audio equipment or technology at all, so I would love him to be able to win this pair of headphones.

A mechanical keyboard for the family computer. My dad has to spend 6+ typing out emails, and it would be way easier to clean than a membrane keyboard.

I've tried to get my parents into all of the things that I enjoy that make technology so much nicer to use.

Great headphones?  Nope, they're fine with their Logitech 2.1 system.
Mechanical keyboards!  They just don't appreciate the difference despite a night-and-day change between my Novatouch TKL and their 9 year (yes, 9 year) old Dell OEM keyboard.
A backup hard drive to safeguard data?  Any error prompt from automatic backup, and they're calling me to fix it.
Music subscription services!  Nope, too complicated.
A Roku for streaming Netflix to the TV?  Nope, too complicated too.  They hook the TV up to the computer via an HDMI cable.
Last year I got them an SSD for their desktop e-mail machine (which I built for them two years ago), and I really don't think they noticed the difference from the conventional drive.

In fact, the best technical present me and my siblings have ever managed for our parents was a hand-me-down iPod, and the gift of time in ripping the several hundred CDs they owned to their new iTunes library.  I get a modest stack every Christmas of new ones they've bought in the past year and want me to add, and since then the iPod has been replaced with a Gen 5 touch -- a significant improvement -- that lives a tethered life to the aforementioned Logitech 2.1 system.

What I couldn't get digital, however, was their significantly smaller, but substantial, collection of LP records.  A lot of these are vinyl that are irreplaceable -- old records with symphonic orchestras that don't exist anymore, or recordings of performances that will never happen again.  These have remained trapped, carefully kept in a cool, dry, vertically-stored place through two house moves and five years whilst their CDs have collected dust after being converted to digital.  Conversion services are expensive, and trying to rig the line-out of their old, dusty record player without preamp (their receiver has long-since died) resulted in an unlistenable file on the other end with nothing but muddy, muted sound, needle hiss, and pops.

An Audio Technica AT-LP60USB would be the easy way out, and I may just look into this for Christmas this year.  Irreplaceable vinyl in, perfect digital signal out via USB.  Bonus points: It'll even hook up via RCA as well as USB, meaning I can completely replace the old record player, do archival with USB, and then keep it around to listen to the vinyl if the need or desire ever arose.  

For anyone who has a large vinyl collection and is either looking to get it converted to digital to either make it more accessible and free up shelf space, or even for the vinyl aficionado who listens to vinyl for the sake of listening to vinyl looking to archive their collection in case of disaster, I can't think of a better gift.

I would buy a NVIDIA Shield TV + the Remote so that my mom could finally spend some time catching up on her favorite TV shows that she missed when raising 4 kids suck as "I Love Lucy." My younger brother who is 10 now could also use the conroller to play a few games on it to keep him occupied while my mom works to keep the family going. Good luck to whomever wins!

If I win or had the money I would get my parents an amazon echo, as it seems like a pretty simple gift that everyone can enjoy around the house as it is marketed to be simple and fun to use. My mother has been wanting one ever since I showed her how cool it was, but I don't have the money to buy one for her as I am a poor student haha. I would either buy an on hub router for my grandparents (if it's available in Canada, can't remember off the top of my head) or a new phone for my little cousin who is currently using a practically unusable (and broken) Samsung phone that was low end 3 years ago.
