Budget Gaming 8 Core System

Hello everyone,

My name is Justin, I am French, so now you know why is my English so "perfect" ?

Last week I decided to build my own cheaper 8 cores, 16Go of RAM, dual CPU PC. I buy this motherboard : TYAN S2932

But I have a problem to find an adapted PSU to supply this CPU. I need a 600W PSU or more and the hard part : 24 pin atx (classic), 8pin EPS12V (easy to find in 4+4 pin), and a 4pin (hard to find) to power the dual CPU (20+4pin, 4+4pin, 4pin).
I also need an 2* 6pin PCI-E for the dual graphics card (because I have 2 PCI-E, 1 PCI-X and PCI) and or course SATA power.

How I can find this PSU? With the cheapest price?

Thanks

Justin

Good evening everyone,

What OS would be great for a setup like this. Just recently acquired a proliant dl380 g5 but im having a hard time with the operating system.

Hello some advice for you :

If you want to use it as a real server use the official driver http://h20564.www2.hpe.com/hpsc/swd/public/readIndex?sp4ts.oid=1121413 .

So use Windows server 2008 (only if you need to use soft who are not available in other OS or Linux RedHat or VMware (virtualize) or any kind or linux if it's for a standard server (web server, NAS, mail server, ...).

If you want to play try Windows 7.

The complete list of supported OS :

Microsoft Windows Server 2000
Microsoft Windows Server 2003
Novell NetWare
LINUX (Red Hat, SuSE)
SCO UnixWare, OpenServer
VMware Virtualization Software
Solaris 10 32/64-bit

Can you build a badass gaming rig on the cheap using old server hardware?

Hello, I have bought a supermicro server x7dbn and it does not have pci-e x16. I know what I was getting into, but listen to me for a second. I live in Argentina and build a PC with the economic inflation of our currency is difficult for a beginner who wants to be a programmer buy a PC. An example to give you a reference is that gtx 1050ti comes out 300usd or more and that's just the video card. Then I bought this serverboard that cost me 27,7usd with the processors as a gift from the buyer (xenon e5310). And a few days ago I bought a gtx 690 per 100usd which is a good price at this time of crisis in my country. I was something with the crypto currency and discovered the risercard so that's where I idealized to use all this set of electronic trash as to build a pc that I can use as to play, as to do other things of studies. Now I would like to know if someone has tried this method, if someone knows how to make the most out of this team as well as things that are similar to the vulkan api. I would love someone to respond to me because there is little information that I opt for and it is all based on conjectures. Thank you very much Nahuel. Use the google translator because you read it in English but I have many spelling mistakes. Excuse me if you do not understand something.

This is a 2 year old thread about a 2 year old video, if you need help you should make your own topic in the appropriate subforum - new builds and planning for example.

To answer your question though, you can run your graphics card in the x8 slot with a riser - you could also literally saw off the part of the pcie plug that doesn't fit, it will just make the card run in x8 mode. Just make sure you aren't sawing off more than you need to.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

sudo chmod -R 000 /*

Good morning everyone,

i build a System with a Supermicro X8DTL-IF board ,2x Xeon X5650 CPU´s, 40 GB DDR3 ECC 1333Mhz Ram and an 500GB SSD with a RX 580.

The GPU is connected at PCIE 2.0 X8, so i know i dont have the full Bandwith but my Performance is terrible. (My CPU,GPU and Case temp are fine)

I get 70-100 fps in diablo 3 - Thats good

in citizen skylines about 22 fps

and in small games like getting over it = 10 fps

in the small games i can the ingame with MSI Afterburner that the GPU load is mostly in 0-12%.. but why?

The Cinebench score (CPU) is normal at 1341CB and the OpenGL test is at 69,79 FPS. So round about 30% less than an normal cinebench with an RX 580.

3DMark Firestrike has ~ 11500 Points and says the System is stable at 99,5%

can anyone help me ?

When we post topics about Vessel videos non-Vessel people complain, when we don't post topics Vessel people complain... Can't really win either way :P

Do you guys have some sort of Schrodinger-tier subscription package where I am both a member and non-member at the same time?

I feel like I'm missing out on 50% of my total potential complaining.

If not, then you should expect a written complaint forthwith.
